Cults of personality.
Inequality and division.
Powerlessness.
Brutality.
These themes are prevalent in dystopian fiction.
They also describe our troubling times.
People are marginalized.
People are oppressed.
People are hurting.
People are scared.
People need change.
Science fiction is reality.
We worry, about our friends, families, health, and finances. We miss human contact. We pine for escapist opportunities.
This Album is influenced by the perils of artificial intelligence, the war against expertise and impact of the Dunning-Kruger Effect, the rise of dictators and totalitarianism, and environmental collapse. Its’ also informed by genre fiction. You may recognize references to “Logan’s Run,” “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep,” and Ray Bradbury’s short stories about Venus.
Why the flowers? Flowers are a common motif in science fiction. Daisies often symbolize innocence, death, and/or rebirth. Further, they represent connection. They require sun, earth, and rain to thrive. They cannot exist in isolation...and neither can the human species.
This collection of songs, instrumentals, and interludes was made using a variety of synths and software. It contains nods to the sci-fi soundtracks of the 80s. I wanted it to feel like an old cassette tape for the score to a lost film.
This album is called Science Fiction, and it’s my way of extending a virtual hand across the void. I hope it provides some respite from a noisy world. The album is free. I only ask that you try to perform an act of kindness for someone else. ”Pay if forward,” as they say.
Science Fiction is dedicated to you…and everyone anxious about loved ones, struggling with social distancing, or apprehensive about the future. This album is my own attempt to come to grips with our world.

The second album by Panic Attack.
This limited edition album includes two LPs: a lathe cut test pressing of early vocals and the final lathe cut. The two black vinyl LPs includes various versions of 8 songs from the First Nature album and is limited to an edition of 5. Each album includes a download code for First Nature and Panic Attack's first album, Ornithology. The LPs feature a lyrics sheet, color labels (alpha = side A, omega = side B), inner and outer sleeves, and a printed front sleeve cover. Each includes a polyvinyl outer sleeve.
